All-Access Meal Plan
UBC is proud to offer an all-you-care-to-eat meal plan to students!
For around $29 a day, students have unlimited access to Pritchard Dining Hall — letting them eat what they want, as often as they want, without worrying about cost — while also offering Flex Dollars to use with on- and off-campus dining partners! So, if you eat at Pritchard for all your meals (plus snacks in between), thats less than $10 a meal – for as much as you care to eat!
Who is it for?
This meal plan is mandatory for students in single-connected units (Cassiar, Nicola, Purcell, Kalamalka, Valhalla, Skeena and Nechako) and Similkameen Place.
And it’s optional for all other students.
Where can it be used?
When is it available?
August 31, 2024 – April 27, 2025.
How does it work?
Students swipe their student card upon entering Pritchard Dining Hall and have unlimited access to everything being served. They can enter as often as they wish (without limits) seven days a week. All-Access meal plan holders can also use the Flex Dollars portion of their meal plan at other UBCO Food Service locations, as well as on- and off-campus partners, vending, and print services!
- If you live in a residence with the All-Access Meal Plan (see above), you are already signed up as part of your Housing Contract, and the meal plan fees are included in your housing fees.
- If you would like to purchase an optional meal plan, use your CWL to log into the Online Service Centre and navigate to the Food Services tab.
Fees
The All-Access Meal Plan is costs 7,002.24 (roughly $29 a day), and is composed of two separate accounts; the All-You-Care-to-Eat (AYCTE) and Flex Dollars.
- The AYCTE portion costs $6,601.28, and offers students unlimited access to Pritchard Dining Hall during operating hours. This portion of the plan is GST-exempt.
- Flex Dollars: As part of the All-Access Meal Plan, diners get $400.96* as Flex dollars, which can be used for purchases at other UBCO Food Service locations, on- and off-campus partners, vending, and print services. This portion of the All-Access Meal Plan is taxable. Visit food.ok.ubc.ca/feed-me/ for a list of all available dining locations.
- Meal plans are available for purchase throughout the Winter Session and costs will be pro-rated based on purchase date.
* Half is available for use in the fall semester, and the remaining becomes available in January.
Terms and Conditions
- All UBC students are issued a UBC student identification card (the “UBCcard”). Your UBCcard is your meal card. You must present your UBCcard at the entry to Pritchard Dining Hall to gain access to AYCTE dining. You must also use your UBCcard to purchase items using the Flex Plan at the point of sale in other eligible dining locations.
- You are responsible for obtaining a UBCcard prior to your first meal in residence. If you are a returning student and already have a UBCcard, your card will be automatically activated as your meal card prior to your arrival at residence.
- It is your responsibility to have your UBCcard with you at all transactions. If you do not have your UBCcard, you will not be allowed entry to Pritchard Dining Hall or to make purchases on your Residence Meal Plan with Flex Dollars. A picture of your UBCcard is not sufficient to make a purchase; the physical card is required.
- You are responsible for the security of your UBCcard and student number. Keep your student number confidential. Treat your card like cash and keep it in a safe place at all times. You are responsible for all use made of this card and for any indebtedness arising from such use. If your UBCcard is lost or stolen, you must immediately:
- Report the lost or stolen UBCcard to the Student Information and Services Office in the University Centre; and
- Suspend your Meal Plan Account online at https://secure.housing.ubc.ca. If your UBCcard is found later, you can also remove the suspension.
Refunds:
Term One Only Meal Plan Refunds (Aug. 31, 2024 to Dec. 21, 2024) are available up to November 30, 2024.
Winter Session Meal Plan Refunds (Aug. 31, 2024 to April 27, 2025) & Term Two Only Meal Plan Refunds (Jan. 10, 2025 to April 27, 2025) are available up to March 31, 2025.
At the end of the Term:
- No portion of AYCTE funds are refundable.

The Carryover Plan can be used for future on-campus food purchases, but is 100% non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash and/or applied as payment to any other UBC Food Services accounts. Once in the Carryover Plan, these funds do not expire.
If you do not wish to have your Flex Dollars rolled into a Carryover Plan, you may request a refund in writing to information@housing.okanagan.ubc.ca within seven (7) days of the the end of term. There is a $50 administration fee for refunds, and a minimum refund amount of $100.
