Principle 9: Movement – Feel the difference

By UBCO Food Services

Intuitive Eating,Nutrition

How many of us exercise just to make our bodies look a certain way?  What if we shifted our focus to how it FEELS to move our bodies?

Just like intuitive eating helps you to rediscover the satisfaction in eating, it also helps you to rediscover the satisfaction (and even joy!) in movement.  When you move your body in a way that feels good, you are feeding your mind, body and spirit.

So skip the run if it doesn’t bring you joy, and spend some time dancing or walking in the woods instead.

Consider what you do for exercise currently

Does it leave you feeling energized, empowered and strong? If the answer is no, try something new!  Remember, the focus is on movement that feels good in your body.  And remember, rest is important too – especially if your body is sick, tired, or sore.
