Venues
The Courtyard
Centrally located, this gorgeous courtyard features a sparkling pond, grassy lawns, and paved surfaces perfect for tenting. It is the ideal spot for an outdoor BBQ or sumptuous summer reception. The Courtyard is located in the centre of campus with access to the Arts, Science, Library and Administration buildings. This space is optimal for informal gatherings, lunches and receptions.Â
The Sunroom
The Sunroom in the Admin Building is a large room with windows on all sides. This room is perfect for large dinner parties or receptions. It has a patio attached for any BBQ events and has its own entrance. It can hold 220 people for meals, using 20 rounds of 8 with additional rectangular tables. It can hold up to 300 people with the addition of the Sunshine dining room seating area. Only available from May to August!

The Ballroom
Located on the second floor of the University Center, this multipurpose ballroom is the perfect space for any banquet, conference, reception or small tradeshow. The beautiful hardwood floor, wooden wall paneling, 20ft high ceiling and large windows provide a light and spacious background for any gathering. This space is available year-round! It holds up to 200 depending on the nature of your event. (Max capacity: 200 people)
Mezzanines and Foyers
The EME (Engineering. Management and Education) Building is the largest on campus at 16,769 square metres, and features an expansive five-storey atrium. This $68-million Gold Seal Standard building was completed in 2012, and is targeted to achieve five out of five points for LEED Innovation in Design for clear-water utilization, education, green housekeeping and green power.
It is ideal for spring and summer receptions and other event types.Â
The mezzanines, foyers and atriums in the various buildings on campus provide the perfect space for receptions, and other event types. All spaces have an open look & feel with lots of daylight and plenty of space to move around. Only available during the summer months!

Our campus boasts multiple unique and beautiful outdoor spaces that could be used for events of all kind. From the large wide open grass field of The Commons, to the Amphitheatre and the Arts & Sciences Courtyard, there’s sure to be an outdoor space to meet your event needs. Â
FAQ
Orders can be placed by phone (250.807.8509) or by email. Orders must be confirmed by 10:00 am one business day prior for next-day deliveries.
Minimum order is $50. Deliveries on statutory holidays require a minimum pre-tax order of $200 and may be subject to additional labour charges.
Orders are delivered and set up by our staff.
Delivery is offered seven days a week and is free of charge on the UBC Campus. Deliveries are scheduled within a 30-minute window and include equipment pickup if required.
We will accommodate allergies and dietary requirements whenever possible. Please notify us of any dietary requirements as early as possible so we can do our best to accommodate them. We do not have an allergen- or gluten-free kitchen, but we do our utmost to prevent cross-contamination and to communicate information about allergens to our customers.
We are a licensed caterer with the LCLB of BC, offering two types of alcohol service:
- Cash bar – Guests purchase their own drinks with cash, debit or credit.
- Host bar – Client purchases all drinks and is invoiced based on consumption.
Bar service with glassware requires a server in addition to a bartender.
If your event is taking place at an unlicensed facility, your Catering Coordinator will gladly arrange a liquor license for you. A $75 administration fee applies.
Any rentals that your event requires will be expertly handled by Scholar’s Table.
We accept payment by Journal Vouchers (UBC clients only), certified cheques, Visa and MasterCard. The prices listed do not include applicable taxes or gratuities. Your order is GST and gratuity exempt when paying with a Journal Voucher.
